US embassy confirms Travel ban on Trillanes and 2 others
The United States Embassy has confirmed travel ban issued against Senator Trillanes and two others ahead of the planned massive demonstration scheduled to take place next week in Philippines.
The senator who has an history of coup attempts will not be able to travel to the U.S for a period which was not specified by the embassy until he satisfactorily meets some given requirements.
This comes a week before a mass protest takes place in Philippines aimed at opposing the president Duterte’s administration.
Earlier in the day, president Duterte announced, he may be forced to declare martial law if the looming massive protests against his rule turn violent or disrupt the country.
Many Filipinos looking for quick solutions to crime continue to support Duterte, according to polls, and he enjoys majority backing in both houses of Congress.
